La feria de Tijuana.

Es un  evento que  se hace cada año en los meses de Agosto y septiembre, así que si estas en Tijuana en estas fechas, puedes asistir y disfrutar de una feria mexicana (si nunca has estado en una),  puedes encontrar comida típica, dulces tradicionales, juegos mecánicos y de destreza, cuentan con un  escenario “el teatro del pueblo”  en el que se presentan artistas (con música o danza). Cuenta con un área infantil, donde se presentan espectáculos para niños. El área del palenque esta dentro de la feria, en este se presentan  artistas Nacionales e internacionales.

La entrada a la feria esta ubicada a un costado del  parque Morelos y Macro plaza, la entrada tiene un costo de 60 pesos para adultos y 40 pesos para niños (este boleto no incluye la entrada al palenque  tienen que comprarlo aparte, pero puedes subirte a 15 juegos sin costo extra). Sin embargo, al presentar las entradas para el palenque, la entrada a la feria tiene un costo de solo 30 pesos.

La verdad es que nunca antes habíamos ido, y  como en el palenque se presentaría “la ley” (banda de rock chilena) aprovechamos para conocer las atracciones de la feria y distraernos un poco mientras esperábamos  la hora del concierto.

Y  bueno  respecto al concierto, luego de la pausa de 10 años,  fue grandioso ver de nuevo  a “La ley” , Beto Cuevas (vocalista) dedico el concierto a Gustavo Cerati por su partida,  la gente estaba súper prendida!,  coreaban cada canción haciendo vibrar el lugar. Y  al parecer ellos quedaron encantados con la respuesta de los asistentes :D. Bueno, yo grite, brinque, cante (no digo que bien pero lo hice :P) lo disfrute, fue casi como verlos por primera vez~, que mas puedo decir??. Solo que espero verlos otra vez ¡ *^*)/.

El concierto termino un poco pasada la 1:00 am, y había muchos taxis “Libres”, lo que es genial! por que el transporte colectivo ya no está disponible a esas horas, así que el asunto del transporte no representa un problema, si es que no cuentas con un auto propio ;).

Tijuana’s Fair

Every year in the months of August and September, if you’re in Tijuana, you can enjoy a Mexican fair and find traditional Mexican food, sweets, rides and skill games, etc. It also has a stage “el teatro del pueblo” in which artists like musicians and dancers have presentations. Counts with child’s area, there you can find attractions for kids. Inside of the fair is the “Palenque” area, many international and national artists have been there with great audience.

The admission is located next to the “Morelos” park and “Macroplaza”, the entrance fee is 60 pesos Adults and 40 pesos for kids, if you show this ticket in the rides area, you can enjoy 15 of them for free (I’m not quite sure but you can ask ;P) . The “Palenque” entrance fee is not include, you need other tickets, the cost depends on the artist that have presentation, so if you already have you “Palenque “ ticket, you can have a discount of 50% in the fair’s ticket. ( I know , is confusing :p)

The truth is that we had never gone before, But since “ La Ley” (Chilean Rock band) have a show in the “Palenque” we decide to go and see the fair attractions, walking around waiting for the concert to start.

Well about the concert, after a pause of 10 years, it was great to see "La Ley" again, people was really excited!, they sang the songs with the band, making the place shake (or something like that). And apparently The band were delighted with the response from attendees :D. Well I loved it,I shouted, jumped, sang (not saying that I did it well, but I did :P), really enjoyed !! n.n, it was almost like seeing them for the first time ~, what else can I say ??. Only I hope to see them again * ^ *) /.

The show ended a little past 1:00 am, and there were many cabs (taxis libres), which is great! Because the public transport is not available at this hours, so the issue of transportation is not a problem, if you do not have your own car ;).

Moneda (Dinero).

Siempre he tenido curiosidad por esos pequeños trozos de papel y metal con los que se realizan las transacciones, ya que a través de ellas también puedes conocer un poco más el lugar que estas visitando; pues es en las monedas donde encuentras algunas de las características más representativas del país. En ellas se pueden observar desde importantes personajes de la historia, artistas, hasta animales endémicos, siempre hay algo interesante que observar, así que no pierdas la oportunidad de curiosear con detenimiento las monedas que pasan por tus manos.

En Tijuana el peso mexicano es la moneda oficial, pero también se utiliza el dólar americano para pagar en restaurantes, centros comerciales y transportes. El dólar americano es aceptado al tipo de cambio del día, la variación que se hace en los centavos ya sea más o menos, depende del día y del establecimiento o persona. En el siguiente video puedes observar el tipo de moneda fraccionaria que se maneja y los billetes que están en circulación.

Recomendaciones

Es un poco difícil decir cuántos pesos equivalen a cuantos dólares por que el tipo de cambio fluctúa con frecuencia... por lo que si piensas visitar Tijuana es recomendable que investigues el tipo de cambio antes de venir.

Por ejemplo, de acuerdo al tipo de cambio de hoy si vas a una casa de cambio obtendrás 13 pesos por un dólar aproximadamente (la equivalencia solo es para el ejemplo :p).

Es importante que si vas a cambiar tus dólares, te fijes que la casa de cambio tenga un letrero que diga NO COMISION (o sea que no te cobraran extra por prestarte el servicio) para que te entreguen el dinero integro.

Las casas de cambio que están cerca de cruce fronterizo son más caras (O sea que si compras dólares tienes que pagar más pesos y si quieres cambiar pesos te dan menos por cada dólar), es más o menos igual que las que están en los aeropuertos.

Las casas de cambio alejadas de la línea fronteriza te pagan más pesos por tus dólares, por ejemplo en el centro [y es mejor si es entre semana, por que al inicio y fines de semana el dólar es más caro, o sea si compras dólares tienes que pagar más por ellos y si compras pesos recibes menos (pesos) por dólar]. 

La ultima opción son los bancos por que tienen el peor tipo de cambio, aunque es más seguro (en cuanto a que la probabilidad de recibir billetes falsos, por esto es importante que revises tus billetes en cuanto los recibas). O puedes usar los ATM también J.

Recommendations

Is a bit difficult to say how many pesos you get for certain amount of dollars or vice versa, because the currency exchange rates fluctuate frequently ... so if you plan to visit Tijuana is recommended that you investigate the exchange rate before you come.

For example, according to the today’s exchange rate, if you go to a Exchange Kiosk will get about 13 pesos per dollar ( is only an example the rate is not that :p)

The last option is the banks that have the worst exchange rate, although it is safer (about the probability of receiving fake money (bill), so it is very important you check your bill when receives your money. Or you can use a ATM service too J.

Clima  de  Tijuana [Esp]

El clima algo tan complejo y difícil de predecir, compuesto por la temperatura, la presión, el viento, humedad y las precipitaciones. El clima marcado por las estaciones, esas que nos brindan diferentes periodos del clima, que nos marcan celebraciones y que vestir.

A continuación te daremos una ligera descripción del clima de Tijuana, para que más o menos tengas una idea de cómo es y disfrutes de tu viaje por la ciudad.

El clima de la región es mediterráneo seco, en primavera los días son frescos y las noches son un poco frías, durante los meses de verano los días son muy calurosos y en las noches refresca un poco; los meses de otoño los días fríos y secos al igual que las noches, y durante el invierno los días son fríos y al igual que las noches pues es cuando se presentan las temporadas de lluvia.

Aunque el clima este marcado en cada estación, a veces puede ser algo peculiar, es decir; que se puede presentar las cuatro estaciones en un día o en una semana.

En cada zona de la ciudad en la que te encuentres el clima es diferente, por ejemplo si estas en el centro cuando es invierno no se siente tanto el frio; pero si estas en la zona este por Otay hace demasiado frio. Como ya lo mencionaba el post anterior el clima es diferente en cada cerro (puede ser algo extremo) tal vez no lo notes mucho o no te afecta tanto pero si eres una persona friolenta y lo tuyo es el clima tropical te darás cuenta…

Otra situación relacionada con el clima es que, durante el otoño y a principios de invierno, pueden presentarse los vientos de Santa Ana o vientos de Santana.

Bueno y si planeas visitar Tj, no olvides revisar el clima.

The weather something so complex and difficult to predict, constitute by temperature, pressure, wind, humidity and for the precipitation. The weather and the seasons, give us different climate periods, celebrations and what to wear.

Here we give you a slightly description of the weather of Tijuana, so you have an a idea about the weather and enjoy your trip in the city.

The weather in the region is dry Mediterranean, in spring the days are fresh and the nights are a little cold, during the season of summer the days are too hot and in the nights are a little fresh; in season of autumn the days are cold and dry same during nights and during winter day and nights are too cold, and in this season is when start the rain periods in the region.

Although the weather is well define in each season sometimes the season are a little peculiar, sometimes you can experiment the four seasons in one day or in one week.

In each zone of the city the weather is a little different for example if you are in the down town when is winter you do not feel the cold but if you are in the east zone in Otay you can feel too chilly. Like we said in the past post the weather is different in each chill (could be a little extreme) maybe you do not really notice or do not feel it but if you are a chilly person and your prefer tropical weather or summer season believe me you will notice…

Another situation related with the weather is that during the season of autumn and early winter can occur the Santana or Santa Ana winds.

Well if you plan to visit and Tj, make sure you check the weather.

Curiosidades  sobre Tijuana.

Seguro que cuando te encuentras viajando y llegas al lugar que hayas elegido como destino, empiezas a observar y te encuentras con detalles  que quizás  no  puedas encontrar en otro lugar y como visitante te parecen  curiosos. Bueno,  el caso de Tijuana no es la excepción, así que en este post,  hemos preparado algunos aspectos de Tijuana que nos parecen curiosos, que tal vez puedes encontrar en tu visita.

Tijuana está poblada casi desde el  límite de la frontera con el país vecino,  en lo personal me parece curioso que de este lado de la frontera las casitas estén tan cerca, mientras que en el lado americano la mancha urbana se  ve a lo lejos.

Es la cuidad  fronteriza más visitada del mundo.

El aeropuerto se encuentra en medio de la zona fronteriza y la universidad.

Los locales (hablando de las personas que viven en aquí) se refieren a Tijuana como “TJ”.

En cuanto al tiempo (refiriéndonos a aspectos meteorológicos) los locales bromean diciendo  que  en ocasiones puedes experimentar las cuatro estaciones en un solo día, pero yo me  atrevo a decir que cada cerro en la ciudad (y vaya que tiene muchos) cuenta con su propio tiempo.

Solo en Tijuana encuentras “Burro-cebra” o Zonkey (por la unión de las palabras en ingles Zebra y Donkey) que no es otra cosa que  burritos pintados a rallas, y han sido denominados "icono de la ciudad".

Tijuana es cuna de la ensalada cesar.

Hay una cervecería local que lleva el nombre de la ciudad.

Es conocida como la capital de la Televisión, por la producción de estos aparatos que se ensamblan en la región.

Curious facts about Tijuana.

When you are traveling and get to the place you've chosen, start watching and you find details that perhaps you can’t find elsewhere and as a visitor you seem curious. Well, Tijuana is no exception, so in this post, we have prepared some aspects of Tijuana that seem curious, maybe you can find them on your visit.

Tijuana is populated almost from the edge of the border with the neighboring country; personally I find this curious, that the houses are so close to this side of the border, while on the American side you can see the urban area at the distance.

It is the most visited border city in the world.

The airport is in the middle of the border area and the university.

Locals (talking about the people who live in here) refer to Tijuana as "TJ".

As for the time (referring to meteorological aspects) locals make jokes saying that sometimes can experience all four seasons in one day, but I dare say that every hill in town (really has many) has its own time.

Only in Tijuana you can find "Burro-Cebra" or Zonkey (the union of the words in English Zebra and Donkey) which is nothing but Donkeys painted as stripes and have been labeled as "icon of the city".

Tijuana is the birthplace of the Caesar Salad.

There is a local brewery with the same name.

It is known as the capital of the TV, because of the large number of devices that are assembled in the region.

Actitud… Lo más importante antes del viaje…/ Attitude ... The most important before a trip

Sin duda una de las cosas que no puedes olvidar y que no va dentro de tu maleta, pero siempre es indispensable llevar consigo vayas al lugar que vayas, es una actitud positiva; pues hay que estar consientes que aunque somos humanos con actitudes y características similares, no tenemos las mismas costumbres y aunque algunas parezcan raras o peculiares y no estemos acostumbrados, es parte de la cultura del país al que estamos visitando debemos respetarlas.

Debemos dejar nuestros prejuicios y otras actitudes que no nos permiten apreciar lo hermoso de otras culturas y lugares. Hay que aprender a disfrutar de lo que este mundo nos ofrece. Esto es parte de las experiencias y aprendizajes, es lo que nos hace más conscientes y nos enriquece como personas.

Estas son algunas de las palabras que considero, no debemos olvidar “empacar”, ya seamos locales, turistas o viajeros; pues pueden hacer que nuestro viaje sea más placentero e inolvidable:

Adaptabilidad, tolerancia, cordialidad, respeto, entendimiento, comprensión…

Ten en cuenta que no todos sabemos todo, y si no sabes siempre es mejor preguntar.

No olvides, ponerte en los zapatos (tenis) de los demás.
